1. Introduction

ZoneHop ("we", "our", "us") is a Chrome browser extension that displays world clocks and timezone information. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use our extension and website at zonehop.app.

2. Information We Collect

Free Users

If you use ZoneHop on the free tier, we do not collect any personal information. Your timezone selections and preferences are stored locally on your device.

Account Holders

When you create an account and subscribe, we collect:

  • Account information: Email address and authentication data, managed by our authentication provider Clerk.
  • Subscription information: Your subscription tier and billing status, managed by Stripe. We do not store your credit card details — all payment processing is handled securely by Stripe.

Scheduling Subscribers

If you subscribe to ZoneHop Scheduling, we additionally store your scheduling profile (display name, page link, availability, optional meeting link) and booking requests made through your scheduling page, including the visitor's name, email address, and optional note. Visitors who book a meeting through a scheduling page do not need an account; we use their name and email only to process and communicate about that booking.

3. Google User Data

Calendar Display in the Extension

If you connect Google Calendar in the extension, we request read-only access to your calendar events to display upcoming meetings alongside your timezone clocks. This calendar data is fetched directly by the extension on your device and is not sent to or stored on our servers. You can disconnect Google Calendar at any time from the extension settings or by removing ZoneHop's access in your Google Account security settings.

Limited Use Disclosure

ZoneHop's use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. We do not sell Google user data, use it for advertising, or allow humans to read it except with your consent, for security purposes, or as required by law.

4. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Provide and maintain your subscription
  • Sync your timezone settings across devices
  • Display calendar events in the extension
  • Operate your scheduling page and process booking requests (Scheduling)
  • Send transactional emails related to your account, subscription, or bookings

5. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services:

  • Clerk — Authentication and user management
  • Stripe — Payment processing and subscription management
  • PostgreSQL — Subscription, scheduling, and booking data storage
  • Google Calendar API — Calendar event display in the extension, opt-in only
  • Resend — Transactional booking emails

Each service operates under its own privacy policy. We encourage you to review their policies.

6. Data Storage & Security

Your timezone preferences are stored locally in your browser using Chrome's storage API and synced via Chrome's built-in sync storage. Subscription, scheduling, and booking records are stored in our PostgreSQL database with appropriate access controls, and all data is transmitted over HTTPS.

7. Data Retention

We retain your subscription data for as long as your account is active. If you cancel your subscription, your data is retained for 30 days before deletion. You can request immediate deletion of any of your data by contacting us.

8. Your Rights

You have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you
  • Request correction or deletion of your data
  • Cancel your subscription at any time through your account page
  • Disconnect Google Calendar access at any time, from the extension or your Google Account settings

9. Children's Privacy

ZoneHop is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify users of significant changes by updating the "Last updated" date above.
