ZoneHop ("we", "our", "us") is a Chrome browser extension that displays world clocks and timezone information. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use our extension and website at zonehop.app.

2. Information We Collect

Free Users

If you use ZoneHop on the free tier, we do not collect any personal information. Your timezone selections and preferences are stored locally on your device.

Pro & Premium Users

When you create an account and subscribe, we collect:

  • Account information: Email address and authentication data, managed by our authentication provider Clerk.
  • Subscription information: Your subscription tier and billing status, managed by Stripe. We do not store your credit card details — all payment processing is handled securely by Stripe.

Google Calendar (Premium Only)

If you connect Google Calendar, we request read-only access to your calendar events to display upcoming meetings alongside your timezone clocks. Calendar data is fetched directly by the extension and is not sent to or stored on our servers.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Provide and maintain your subscription
  • Sync your timezone settings across devices (Pro & Premium)
  • Display calendar events in the extension (Premium)
  • Send transactional emails related to your account or subscription

4. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services:

  • Clerk — Authentication and user management
  • Stripe — Payment processing and subscription management
  • Supabase — Subscription data storage
  • Google Calendar API — Calendar event display (Premium, opt-in only)

Each service operates under its own privacy policy. We encourage you to review their policies.

5. Data Storage & Security

Your timezone preferences are stored locally in your browser using Chrome's storage API. For Pro and Premium users, preferences are synced via Chrome's built-in sync storage. Subscription records are stored in our Supabase database with appropriate access controls.

6. Data Retention

We retain your subscription data for as long as your account is active. If you cancel your subscription, your data is retained for 30 days before deletion. You can request immediate deletion by contacting us.

7. Your Rights

You have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you
  • Request correction or deletion of your data
  • Cancel your subscription at any time through your account page
  • Disconnect Google Calendar access at any time

8. Children's Privacy

ZoneHop is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify users of significant changes by updating the "Last updated" date above.
